Is it important to seek Web Services Distributed Management (WSDM) support when shopping for management software? Does the specification deliver anything meaningful in terms of management interoperability?

EXPERT RESPONSE
WSDM has not gained industry acceptance; therefore, it should not be considered an important criterion when shopping for management software. Most management vendors have shifted their efforts to WS-Management, which is in development at the DMTF.
